Inspired!!!

So I was recently introduced to Johnny Cupcakes.  I like a good cupcake as much as the next person...but I was amazed at what I found out about the Johnny Cupcakes brand.

Johnny Cupcakes does not sell cupcakes...at ALL!  His brand is completely based on t-shirt and accessory design.  What?  Craziness if you ask me.  But the more I started reading and watching about this brand, the more I was intrigued.  This brand has now gone viral.  People will camp out at the retail stores in Boston, LA and London when new designs are released.  Pilgrimages are made by the customers who have started their own cult following community.  Johnny is able to sell t-shirts at up to $70 a shirt!  Really!?!?  $70 for a t-shirt in this day and in this economy?

That's when it hit me...people DO still spend money.  They are just more selective about WHAT they are spending it on.  Give them something to believe in and to belong to, and they will support it...not only with money but also with recommendations to friends and to the world!  So this is where my inspiration has come from!

What can I do to create a brand and a product that is so sought after that people will put their time and money into it?  What sacrifices am I willing to make to see it happen?  I believe in music and I support bands and labels that I believe in.  What can I do to create the same type of company?  A company that people will buy into?  The question has not been completely answered yet but the inspiration is there.

I purchased this logo about a year ago and it has been and will continue to be the basis for my inspiration!  By posting it here, the world can now see it and that makes it public.  Once something goes public, there is not turning back whether the outcome is good or bad.  My passion burns bright and my desire to learn and craft my knowledge and abilities is what drives me.  My family and friends support me!  I can make this happen!

  1. Aaron,

I really enjoyed your blog post. I found it very interesting that Johnny Cupcakes inspired you so much. I think it's great that by knowing you have support that you feel like you can make all things happen. I agree with you that if you give someone something to believe in that they will indeed support it. Again, great job!
