Turn it up

So...do you like music?  Let me rephrase that.  DO you LOVE music?  I do.  The louder and crazier the better.  I've grown up on metal and hardcore music and just can't seem to get it out of my blood no matter how hard I try.  But here is where this love for music gets interesting.

When I was young it was about hot, sweaty shows in cramped spaces.  It was about clawing around magazines and websites (what few were around then) for any information you could get about your favorite bands. It was about trying everything you could to connect with that singer, or drummer, or guitarist or whatever member of the band you could.  Emails, letters, quick conversations after the show.  The music was speaking directly to your life, both good and bad, and you would do anything to have them be a small part of it.

As I have gotten older, my focus has shifted but the passion and purpose remain the same.  I want to connect people with the human beings behind the music they love.  I have created a website devoted to this purpose.  Interviews with the band members.  Reviews of the music being created.  Real life issues these band members deal with.  I pretty much want to personalize the people that are always looking back at us from the stage.  I want that barrier and perspective pulled down and I want people to see band members as the humans they are.  I want fans to be able to connect...plain and simple.

BuriedSound.com exists to fulfill this purpose.  And just like we want to have people see band members as people, I want this blog to be the place you can see me as a person.  I want to share this journey.  I want you to know what makes me tick.  I want you to have the perspective behind the perspective.  It will be personal.  It will be intimate at times.  But above all it will be fun and rewarding.  If you love heavy music, come enjoy the journey.
